What is a Bespoke Diamond Ring?
A bespoke engagement ring is a custom-made diamond engagement ring that is designed and crafted (hand crafted by us specifically) to meet a customer's specific specifications and preferences. Unlike pre-made or high street engagement rings, which are mass-produced and available in fixed designs, bespoke engagement rings are unique and tailored to the individual customer. If you are interested in a bespoke engagement ring, this process typically involves a consultation with a professional jeweller (in this case Michael or Alex) and during this process we will discuss your preferences, budget, and specific requirements for the ring.
How Does the Bespoke Service Work?
The process of creating a bespoke diamond ring involves several steps:
- The consultation: The first step is to meet with a one of our team members who will guide you through the process of designing your bespoke diamond ring. During this consultation, you will discuss your preferences, budget, and any specific design requirements you have for the ring however intricate they may be. We will also show you a range of natural diamonds, gemstones or lab grown diamonds for you to choose from that we be used to complete your bespoke design. We will also confirm a date for you to see the jewellery in its box.
- Agreement and Commitment: Once the above is agreed, we will ask for a deposit or a commitment gesture. This is usually between £300 - £500 and is fully refundable if we do not proceed past this stage. As soon as the deposit has been paid, we will get started for you straight away.
- The Design Stage: Once the consultation is complete, we will create a detailed design for your bespoke diamond ring within a couple of days. This may sometimes involve hand-sketching the design but the vast majority of the time we will provide you with a bespoke CAD (computer aided design) of the ring.
- The Review: You will have the opportunity to review and approve the design before it is sent to the next stage of the process. If any adjustments are needed, we will make them for you and resend the updated CAD. If you are happy to proceed, we print the CAD in WAX or cast it to the metal of your choice (this will be previously agreed).
- Viewing & Trying the Bespoke design in person: Once we print the ring to wax or cast it to metal, you are more then welcome to come in and see it in person with the diamonds to be set loosely sitting on the design so that you can finally sign off the ring before seeing the final piece. Most people choose to sign off their ring from the comfort of their own home via WhatsApp or Email. We will then provide you with a reminder of the deadline and start making your custom made bespoke diamond ring for you.
- Inspection and delivery: Once the bespoke diamond ring is complete, it will be thoroughly inspected to ensure that it meets the standards of quality and craftsmanship. If everything is in order, the ring will be put in its box and ready for you to come and see it in person (or sent to you vis next day delivery).
