GIA ALWAYS LEAVE THEIR MARK
|
When buying a diamond, it has become more popular to purchase it together with its own independent diamond certificate. This will verify the exact measurements and weight of the stone together with its perceived colour and clarity The Gemmological Institute of America (GIA were the pioneers in creating the world renowned 4c's chart which is now used to grade every precious stone including diamond) |
Once you have examined your diamond thoroughly through a magnifying loop, inspected the certificate to appertain it qualities, but how can you be sure the diamond you have selected is the same one when you collect your ring?
With almost every diamond the GIA certify, GIA laser the certificate number on the diamond. the inscription is almost always on either side of the girdle which is outlined in the picture below:

If you are unable to find your inscription, we have our own GIA microscope in our showrooms which you can use to help find it to confirm the diamond you have bought aligns up to your certificate. Contact Us for a private appointment at our Hatton Garden showrooms. Other certification companies such as EDR, EGL, HRD, IGI are yet to follow suit and catch up with the pioneers of diamond manufacturing |
